Typical Puerto Rican Culture

The culture of Puerto Rico is the result of a great number of influences from indigenous peoples native and foreign immigration, both in the past and in the present. The contemporary cultural expressions of Puerto Ricans demonstrate the rich history of the island and help create an identity of the country, that comes from the fusion of diverse cultures: Taino (native Indians), Spaniards, Africans, other Europeans, Asians, Arabs and North -americanos.1.

The co-association with the United States changed directly Puerto Rican civil behavior, including culturally. The apparent structure and luxurious coastal life that is grown in the United States, as the character of Miami, mark the current behavior of the people of this island, resembling even the aggravation of social inequalities. Despite the "Americanization", the people of Puerto Rican culture carries its original, like Catholicism and customs of indigenous stamp.
